Short answer: Belgium's main exhibition venues are Brussels Expo, Flanders Expo in Ghent and Kortrijk Xpo. At Brussels Expo stands must be self-supporting, the standard height is 250 cm, electrics are connected exclusively by Brussels Expo staff or its appointed company, and suspensions and double-deck stands need an external SECT inspection. Venue rules that shape your stand design in Belgium

Custom stands fail approval most often on height, fire class of materials, rigging and electrics. These are the rules the venues publish:

Brussels Expo

• Standard maximum height 250 cm for partitions and fixed elements; exceptions need organiser approval in consultation with Brussels Expo.
• Materials must meet the reaction-to-fire classes of the Belgian Royal Decree of 7 July 1994 / EN 13501-1; the classification certificate must be available at all times.
• Electrical connection, distribution boards and power supply exclusively by Brussels Expo staff or the company it appoints.
• Stands must be self-supporting; any suspension needs written approval and an external SECT inspection.
• Double-deck stands: SECT inspection mandatory, 500 kg/m² (public) or 350 kg/m² (private) loads, railing at least 110 cm.

Flanders Expo, Ghent (example: Agriflanders 2027)

• Walls higher than 3 m must be approved by Easyfairs Belgium.
• Technical connections including electricity are ordered through Easyfairs Belgium.
• Hall clear heights: Hall 1 11 m, Halls 2–7 6 m, Hall 8 13 m.

Rules can differ per show: the organiser's exhibitor manual for your fair always takes precedence. We read that manual before the first design sketch, not after.

Shipping a stand from Istanbul to Belgium

Customs framework: Türkiye and the EU have been in a customs union for industrial goods since 31 December 1995 (Decision 1/95). Stand materials made in Istanbul therefore move into Belgium without customs duty when they travel with an A.TR movement certificate. Since 8 July 2024 EU member states accept A.TR certificates issued electronically with a QR code. (European Commission – EU–Türkiye trade; European Commission – electronic A.TR (2024))

Exhibits that go back home: Products you display and take back to Türkiye can travel on an ATA Carnet (temporary admission for goods at fairs and exhibitions). Consumables and stand parts that stay or are used up on site cannot go on a carnet; they are declared separately. We confirm the right document set with the customs broker for each shipment. Planning timeline for a custom stand in Belgium

1. 16–12 weeks before: book space, send us the floor plan and stand number; we propose a design and budget.
2. 12–8 weeks before: final design, structural details for double-deck or rigged elements, material list with fire certificates.
3. Drawing deadline (set by the venue/organiser – see the rules above): submit stand drawings for approval; order electricity, rigging and other venue-reserved services.
4. 4–2 weeks before: production and pre-assembly in our Istanbul factory, then road or sea freight with the customs documents.
5. Build-up days: installation, electrical connection by the venue's contractor, final check with you before opening.
6. After the show: dismantling, return shipment or storage of reusable parts.
